I asked a guy on the ice one day how they were biting. He pulled a golf clicker out of his pocket and said, “38 keepers so far.”
It was a simple and ingenious idea.
I set the clicker beside me in my clam or boat and click it every time we put another keeper in the pail. It is very helpful when hitting the limit is a concern, and it is a lot of fun too.
We set mini goals like the fund raisers on public radio. Can we hit 70 perch by 8:30?
